How long has it been?

I think about oh.. 7 months. :) What can I say except that I really haven't felt like blogging for awhile. I am still trying to decide if I will continue to blog or not. My blog is out there in cyberspace just sitting and I feel guilty for not tending to it.

Well the big news is that we have moved back to the states. We arrived the first week of September and it has been wonderful to be home again. Although home is my parent's house in Az for right now. Jim is in contact about a job in D.C. If he takes it that means we will be moving very soon. Did I ever think of myself living on the east coast? NEVER. I always have wanted to go back to the midwest, have some acreage and live a quiet life. Honestly, I really only want to have my husband have a nice job and be near a very nice Holy Mass.  We shall see what God is asking of us.

The school year is starting off slow. We are only in week 5. But considering we just moved across the world I am not too worried! We started Joey in Classical Liberal Arts Academy for his Latin, Catechism, Classical Vocabulary and in the future World Chronology and Geography. It is a very challenging program for Joey which is exactly what he needs. He is also doing Biology this year with Algebra 2w/ some geometry and English. I am still using my combo of CHC and Mater Amabilis with Blake and Hannah;they are doing just fine. I am however thinking of enrolling them in some of the Petty School Courses to prepare them for future studies in Latin and possible help in Arithmetic.  As for Thomas and Michael they are testing the waters everyday since we are living at grandma and grandpa's house. Do they win? No, but sometimes it looks and feels like they are!  Oh and ask me how life is having my dear lovely husband home all day, everyday. It is well interesting! I know he is bored and because he is bored he is driving me nuts! But I do love him a bunch and I know that in 5 years when he is back to work I will be missing these days. I know he is reading this with a chuckle as well! :)

My Hannah

Muscles

Thomas and I were engaged in a deep conversation this morning while he was on the potty. By the way all mom's know that the potty is where these deep conversations take place! So he says to me:

 " Mom I have muscles."

   I say " You do?"

   Thomas- " Yeah"

   I ask- " Are they in your arms?"

   Thomas- " No there in Daddy's car."

   Well I guess Daddy better come home early and bring you your muscles!

Something to Ponder

 

In the last few years have any of you noticed the China has had devastation after devastation all involving children? One has to wonder if it has anything to do with their so called one child policy. forced abortions oh and let's not mention Communism. If you think that all these things are false wake up America and read the news. I think God is giving them many warnings and punishments through the suffering of these little children. When will they get it? Or us for that matter? When they had a large  earthquake a few years back most of the schools collapsed killings hundreds of their children. Then they had the tainted formula incident which killed or injured  children. Now they have stabbings occurring in the schools killing young children. http://www.time.com/time/world/article/0,8599,1985834,00.html?xid=rss-top-aol  We as a society are contributing to the destruction of their children and most of us never even think about it. Where are most of our products made, China, who did our government borrow money from to pay off our debts, China. When we bring our factories to China it totally breaks down their family life. Mom and Dad both go off to work usually leaving their 1 child behind to be raise by elderly grandparents. Mothers no longer breastfeed ( Hence the formula scandal ) and if the family breaks down so does society.

What can we do to change these things? Well, stop buying products from China or at least limit the number as much as possible. Pray above all else, pray that Communism stops and pray for the Chinese people who suffer from the consequences of Communism. Pray for their children to stop being aborted and for the women who are forced to suffer this horrible crime.

Jesus was little too?

So Thomas (3) has a poopy diaper today, please no comments about potty training! Anyway, as I am changing him asks " Mommy did Jesus go poo-poo?"

Me " Yes, baby Jesus went poo- poo and pee-pee."

Thomas " HE DID?"

Me " Yep, and he was a little boy just like you too."

Thomas " Jesus was yittle too, like me?"

Me " Yep"

Apparently he didn't know that Jesus went potty and was a little boy too. There's some great theology happening over here! I guess I never really got around to telling my kids durring catechism that Jesus went to the bathroom! These little ones sure do keep things lively around here!

The Stations

Lent

I was just checking in to see how everyone's Lent is going. I admit I have fallen off of the "Lent wagon", but picked myself up and got back on the ride for the rest of Lent.  My son Blake keeps asking me how many more days until Lent is over. It's hard giving up things we love as an adult I can't imagine how hard it is for children.  I do have fleeting moments of wanting to give in and have what I took away for Lent, but then I remember how often I have turned away from Him in order to satisfy a want of mine that isn't always good for my body or soul. So I move on and try to do something else more productive. I gave up Facebook for Lent and watching NCIS. Both were becoming addicting. You know when your addicted to something when you start dreaming about. In my case Mark Harmon. Sorry honey! My hubby and I do watch it together so it's nice time together. When he gets home we will just have to find new ways of spending time together. I have been enjoying my Lenten reads as well. I started Calls by Sr. Lucia. It is really a good book and I like that she has a great knowledge of scripture it really is a quite enjoyable book. I am also reading An Easy Way to Become a Saint. I just love all of Fr. Paul O' Sullivan books. ( I hope I spelled that right!) He writes in such a simplistic style so it's very easy to understand and put his advice into use. Well, I hope your all having a very sacrificial Lent and are learning to love God more without putting things in the way, like Facebook or Mark Harmon!!!:)
